2012 Opponent Preview Week 14 & 15: Washington Redskins face Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns
This is the last episode of opponent preview series of Washington Redskins. In this space, we will preview the games to be played in Week 14 and 15 of the regular season. Redskins will face Baltimore Ravens in Week 14 and Cleveland Browns
in Week 15.
They will play New York Giants in Week 13, Philadelphia Eagles in Week 16 and Dallas Cowboys in Week 17. We have previewed these three teams before.
Week 14: Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore Ravens were fantastic in the 2011 season. Yet, things have not quite come out as they wanted in the offseason.
First of all the loss of Jarret Johnson is a big one. He was a vital part of the Ravens’ defence. Also their other starter linebacker Terrell Suggs is out due to injury.
Yet one cannot underestimate the talent they still have on the roster. Their offence looks strong this time that might help the Ravens.
They will be looking for a spectacular season from Ray Rice, who must support quarterback Joe Flacco.
In the defence, they added players to cope up with the issues at the linebacker position. They have drafted Courtney Upshaw to cover the position and Sergio Kindle will be the starter.
Week 15: Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns have some deep problems with no easy solution. Last season they finished 4-12.
Their roster is going through development stage for the last two seasons and this season will be the continuation of that.
Their offence is too young. They have a rookie running back Trent Richardson who is expected to start for them. Browns will also have another rookie in the starting team in wide receiver Josh Gordon.
Although these players are looking good, they will not have the experience to grind out the results in tough situations. On the defensive side, things are a bit better with players like Joe Haden and Phil Taylor looking to be in nice touch.
Last time these two teams played versus each other was in the 2008 season. Redskins won that game 14-11.
