2012 Opponent Preview Week 2 & 3: New York Jets face Pittsburgh Steelers and Miami Dolphins
We start our second edition of current opponent preview series which is looking into the opponents that New York Jets will face during the regular season.
In this episode we will look into the games that will be played in Week 2 and 3 of the regular season.
In Week 2, Jets will face Pittsburgh Steelers and in Week 3 they will be against Miami Dolphins. Jets will be on road to play both of these games.
Playing against Steelers would be a challenging task as they have a much more mature roster than the Jets. On the other hand, Jets have a good chance of winning against Dolphins.
Week 2: Pittsburgh Steelers
Pittsburgh Steelers are a monster of a team and playing against them in their own backyard makes it even more difficult for a team like Jets.
Last season they looked absolutely phenomenal as they finished the season 12-4 and qualified for the playoffs in a magnificent way.
As the seasons go by every year, Steelers’ roster looks to contain even more old aged players. This looks to be a great concern for them in the long run. Having an old aged roster makes Steelers prone to sloppy play and injuries.
Offensive team desperately needed strength to give good support to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Steelers did exactly that as they drafted Mike Adams and David DeCastro.
The defensive unit gave a stalker of a performance last season and looks almost the same this time.
Week 3: Miami Dolphins
It looks like the Miami Dolphins are heading to another bad season as they again failed to put up a better roster. Last season they finished 6-10.
The loss of Brandon Marshall will definitely decrease the efficiency of offensive line. The rest of the offensive team does not look to be a threat to many sides.
The defence looks good and will be hoping to give a good result. Jets and Dolphins will face each other twice this season.
