We continue our preview of Washington Redskins’ opponents. We have previously previewed games that will be played in Week 1, 2 and 3 of the regular season.
In this episode, we will preview games to be played in week 4 and 5. Redskins will play Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 4 and Atlanta Falcons in Week 5.
Week 4: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Buccaneers are starting a new era with new head coach Greg Schiano. He is a strict professional and likes to work in a disciplined manner.
In the last few seasons, Buccaneers lacked a discipliner in their coaching staff. That is why there were many issues in the camp regarding the players’ conduct.
Schiano has made some drastic additions to the roster, as they have drafted some good quality players this year. They include Doug Martin, Mark Barron, Carl Nicks and Vincent Jackson who look to be exciting prospects.
The area at which Buccaneers will look for improvement is their quarterback play. Josh Freeman’s performance was not up to the mark last season. Gerald McCoy will also be looking forward to this season in which he could finally live up
to the expectations.
Head-to-Head
Redskins and Buccaneers have played 19 games against each other. Redskins have won 9 while Buccaneers have won 10 games.
Week 5: Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta Falcons are a team in superb form. They are coming up after a 10-6 finish last season. They played exciting games throughout the season until they faced New York Giants in the playoffs.
Falcons have strongly upgraded their roster with a mix of young draftees and veteran players.
Their quarterback Matt Ryan has been giving consistent performance since his arrival into the team in 2008. He is not an elite player but a very consistent one.
Falcons’ wide receivers are also looking to be in superb form after exceptional performance in their rookie season. Look for them to have a breakout season this time. Their talent will certainly be very helpful for Ryan.
Head-to-Head
The two teams have played a total of 22 games versus each other. Redskins have won 15 games while Falcons have six games. One game ended in a tie.
