2012 Opponent Preview Week 6 & 7: New York Jets face Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots
We have reached Week 6 and 7 in the opponent preview series as we look into the opponents New York Jets will face in the 2012 regular season.
Jets will play at home for the third consecutive week as they face Indianapolis Colts in Week 6. After that they will be on road to face New England Patriots in Week 7.
Week 6: Indianapolis Colts
Indianapolis Colts are looking for a change of luck this season with the addition of quarterback Andrew Luck as the number one overall draft pick.
Luck has so far had an impressive time during Colts’ training camp and preseason games and the management is hoping that he fills in the void created after the departure of veteran Peyton Manning.
Colts will look to have a better output this time after a shocking 2-14 end to the 2011 season. Yet it will be difficult for a rookie quarter back to produce a Pro Bowler of a performance right away.
It is not just the quarterback position that needed the support after the last season; Colts’ overall roster needs adjustment. It looks to be a long road of rebuilding for Colts in coming years.
The defence will be strong under new head coach Joe Pagano, who has the reputation of making a quality defensive team.
Week 7: New England Patriots
New England Patriots will again look to be the prime candidate to win the American Football Conference (AFC) Championship after a splendid 2011 season.
Yet it is the Super Bowl title they will be looking for again after a disappointing finish to the last season as they lost to the New York Giants in the title game. They had finished the regular season 13-3.
In the offensive side of the game, Patriots have added Brandon Lloyd, who seems to be a great addition in the wide receiving corps behind Wes Welker.
Quarterback Tom Brady again will be a threat to even the best defensive teams in the league as he comes from a 39-touchdown season.
The return of Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez will bolster their chances of having an even better regular season. The two teams will play two games against each other this season.
