2012 Opponent Preview Week 9 & 10: Houston Texans face Buffalo Bills and Chicago Bears
As the opponent preview of the 2012 regular season of Houston Texans continues, we have now reached Week 9 and 10 games.
In Week 9 Texans will host Buffalo Bills while they will be on road to face Chicago Bears in Week 10.
Week 9: Buffalo Bills
Bills have focused on improving the defence this offseason as it did not play well last season. Lack of good defensive performance was the major reason why Bills finished 6-10 despite having a good start to the season.
The offence looked promising last season. Bills will be hoping for a better output from Ryan Fitzpatrick to keep the offence going well.
In order to fill defensive loopholes, Bills have added Mario Williams and Mark Anderson who will definitely strengthen the squad.
The secondary seems to have become better especially after the return of Terrence McGee from his injury.
Bills will come out with a strong offensive backfield as Fred Jackson returns to full fitness. Also, Stevie Jackson will look for sparkling season having signed a long-term deal.
Head-to-Head
Texans and Bills have played five games against each other. Texans have won twice while Bills have won three times.
Week 10: Chicago Bears
After finishing an average season, Chicago Bears are looking forward for a much better end to this season.
In order to fill the gaps seen on the roster last season, Bears have added depth at every position this offseason.
Last season, Bears managed to finish 8-8. There was a desperate need for Bears in recent years to acquire the services of a top quality wide receiver. This offseason they finally have one as they have signed Brandon Marshall.
The overall offence will come into the field with a new system being put in place by the new offensive coordinator.
Quarterback Jay Cutler should provide better output as he will not have any issues that he had with Mike Martz. The addition of Alshon Jeffery could become an asset down the field for Bears.
The new general manager Phil Emery has made some positive changes so far but it is yet to be seen how effective they will be.
Head-to-Head
Texans and Bears have played only two games against each other. Bears have won both games.
