2012 Season Opponent Preview: New York Giants take on Baltimore Ravens in Week 16
Renowned for having a strong defensive unit, Baltimore Ravens are going to face New York Giants in week 16 of the 2012 National Football League (NFL) season.
Both teams have not faced each other in any regular season or postseason game since a long time and it will surely be an exciting game to watch.
Ravens have undoubtedly got very tough defensive unit, and they have added offensive strength to their roster this offseason.
They have relied on their defence for victories most of the times, but this time their offence is also going to be a bit different and that is the area to look for not just for Giants but for every other team in the league.
If Ravens manage to be aggressive on the offence while playing at the same level on the defence, they will definitely carry an upper hand over the Giants.
Although Giants will also be able to counter Ravens as it will be week 16 and the teams will know everything about each other’s strategy, the threat is still there.
Giants quarterback Eli Manning also has to undergo a tough test. He is already short of a receiver this time and if the new player is unable to fill in the shoes of Mario Manningham who has joined the San Francisco 49ers, Giants might get in trouble.
Head-to-head
Giants and Ravens have faced each other only four times. The first three games were won by Ravens while Giants managed to win their last encounter in the 2008 season. They have played one playoff game against each other and Ravens won that one. Both teams
are going to face each other only once in the 2012 season.
