2012 Season Preview: Dallas Cowboys take on Baltimore Ravens in Week 6
After their bye week, the Dallas Cowboys are going to play a road game against the Baltimore Ravens who are also among the Super Bowl contenders.
Ravens have a sturdy defence that has brought many victories to the franchise, but this offseason the Ravens have addressed their offensive woes and it is expected that they will come hard on the opponents.
The Cowboys have to be really competitive if they really want to get past the Ravens. Their offence already faces a tough task of penetrating the Ravens defensive line. Not many teams are capable of doing it.
Ravens finished the 2011 regular season 12-4 atop the American Football Conference (AFC) North. They defeated the Houston Texans in their first playoff game, but lost against the New England Patriots in the AFC championship game.
This game will be a battle between Ravens defence and Cowboys offence. If quarterback Tony Romo gets good pass completion rate then Cowboys will have a good chance of winning the game, but Ravens are well capable of hurting Romo’s efficiency and accuracy.
Cowboys must also ensure their defence stays disciplined. The Cowboys defence and Ravens offence have new things to offer this season. So, it will be interesting to see how these teams take on each other. By the looks of the things, it is going to be a very
competitive game unless one team becomes sloppy and gives the game away.
Head-to-head
Cowboys and Ravens have not played many games against each other. They have faced each other in a total of three games, all in regular season. Cowboys are yet to win a game against the Ravens. Cowboys and Ravens are going to play only one game in the 2012
season.
Last meeting
Cowboys hosted Ravens for Week 16 game of the 2008 season. Cowboys started the game well and took an early lead by scoring a touchdown in the first quarter.
Ravens managed a field goal in the first quarter, but they added two more in the second quarter to take the lead. Cowboys could not register any scoring move in the quarter.
Ravens increased their lead by scoring a touchdown in the third quarter as Cowboys again struggled to score.
In the final quarter, Cowboys did well two score two touchdowns and a field goal, but Ravens also scored two touchdowns and a field goal to win the game 33-24.
