2012 Season Preview: Philadelphia Eagles face Dallas Cowboys in Week 10, Washington Redskins in Week 11
Two opponents from the National Football Conference (NFC) East await Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10 and 11 games.
Week 10: Dallas Cowboys
Another strong playoff contender from the NFC East, the Dallas Cowboys are desperate to play in the postseason and progress even further.
They have not been able to win the Super Bowl since a long time and they have been repeatedly criticised for it. Even their owner has said that the Super Bowl window is closing for the team.
So there is no denying that Cowboys are desperate, but Eagles, if play sensibly, can overcome this opponent as well.
Eagles played two games against the Cowboys last year and won both of them. Eagles defence was pretty solid in both the games and if they show the same calibre against the Tony Romo-led offence then Cowboys will not be able to get past the Eagles easily.
A point to note, however, for Eagles is that the Cowboys are entering the 2012 season with a new defensive strategy and Eagles offence has to be very careful while devising strategies the against Cowboys.
Head-to-Head
Cowboys and Eagles have faced each other 106 times. Eagles have won 47 games while Cowboys have 59 victories to their name. Both teams are going to face each other twice in the 2012 season.
Week 11: Washington Redskins
Just like the Cowboys, the Washington Redskins also lost their both games of the last regular season against the Eagles.
However, just like the Cowboys, they have something new and different to offer this time.
Redskins have a new quarterback in Robert Griffin III (RG3) who has joined the team as a second overall draft pick this year and the offence is expected to flourish under the rookie.
It will be interesting to see how Eagles face this challenge, but they still have an upper hand against Redskins.
If Redskins want to win the game, they must be aggressive on defence while providing the required support to the rookie.
Head-to-Head
Eagles and Redskins have faced each other 156 times. Eagles have won 71 while Redskins have won 79 games. Six games were tied. Eagles and Redskins are going to play two games against each other in the 2012 season.
