2012 Super Bowl loss to further nag New England Patriots’ Tom Brady – NFL News Update
The New England Patriots’ quarterback, Tom Brady will continue to be troubled by yet another loss sustained at the hand of the New York Giants this Sunday and that too in a Super Bowl game.
The New England Patriots’ quarterback, Tom Brady had earlier admitted that the Jets loss to the New York Giants back in 2008 still continues to trouble him.
Brady was unable to watch the highlight of the Super Bowl game which the Giants won four years back to deny the Patriots their quest for a perfect season.
Giants have been a constant source of worry for Brady as he failed to muster up a strong show against them this season as well.
Week 9 of this season saw the Giants outsmart the Patriots 24-20 once again. The Patriots were guilty of committing four turnovers which cost them the game. To make matters worse for the quarterback, was the fact that he forfeited three of those turnovers,
two interceptions and one fumble. Brady thus bore the responsibility for the loss sustained by the Patriots.
The Patriots were looking to equal the score but that possibility ended with a Giants victory. Also hopes of quelling that bad memory by Brady will no longer be realised.
The Patriots had done well in recovering from the week 9 loss in which they were held to their season’s lowest point score of 20. They rebounded from the loss to win ten straight games but could not repeat their success this Sunday as they ended up failing
to the Giants again.
"As time goes on, I still can't watch highlights from that game, that's just the way it is," Brady had earlier said. "You get to the end, and we had a great opportunity there and really squandered it because we didn't play our very best."
A win over the Giants would not only have allowed Brady another Super Bowl victory but would also have helped him assuage past disturbing memoirs of how they ended up losing the Super Bowl four years back.
Brady had been quite optimistic of a victor earlier on as he went on to say that he could not wait for the Super Bowl game and was excited. Brady had been quite confident that the team would be able to learn “lessons” from their past defeat. However, the
game did not end the way Brady wanted to and he may not be able to watch the highlights of another game.
