He was up against the Korean shuttler Yim Jong Woo and this encounter prolonged to two sets before ending with decisive figures of 21-17 and 21-13.
Both contenders put a splendid show of badminton skills and their honest effort was applauded by the local crowd of Lucknow, India.
The Indonesian player, who is fifth seeded shuttler of this GP Gold event, laid foundation of his supremacy immediately in the opening game and kept his rival under control all the way to final stage.
Alamsyah made his intentions clear by clinching eight consecutive points after 1-3 and put his challenger under huge pressure.
He made best out of this psychological edge and placed an impressive total of 11 before the announcement of break.
After the mid-game break, he looked bit off track as Jong Woo made a swift progress and narrowed the gap on points table.
