2012 Technion Beach Volleyball Challenge Cup set take place in Israel – Volleyball news
The Israel Volleyball Federation (IVF) in collaboration with International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) is set to host a wonderful beach volleyball tournament from April 1 to 4.
The city of Haifa in Northern Israel will set up the field of play for the 2012 Technion Challenge Beach Volleyball Cup. All the action will take place at the Technion Sports Centre, which is best-suited arena for such kind of activities.
The tournament will feature both men’s and women’s competitions, and it is most likely that some of the renowned FIVB Beach Volleyball SWATCH World Tour players will come to join the thrilling feat. The participation of international beach volleyball stars
has added more value to the upcoming event. The IVF is totally prepared to receive huge number of spectators at the Technion Centre.
In addition to international players, the top duos from Israel will also showcase their skills on the sand. Prior to Technion Challenge Cup, there will be another event by the name of Technion Spring Cup. This tournament will be attended by teams from different
parts of the country and successful tandem will get a chance to prove their endeavours at the international tournament. The Spring Cup will also take place in the same venue, which has been selected for the 2012 Technion Cup.
The courts have now been transformed from a hillside tennis facility to a temporary beach volleyball venue ready to host thousands of spectators.
In the men’s category, German duo of Jonathan Erdmann and Kay Matysik, Janis Smedins and Martins Plavins of Latvia, USA’s Matt Fuerbringer and Nick Lucena and Brazil’s Benjamin Insfran and Harley Marques, Spain’s Pablo Herrera and Adrian Gavira, Konstantin
Semenov and Yaroslav Koshkarev of Russia, and Estonian pairing of Rivo Vesik and Karl Jaani will be on board to amaze the beach volleyball audience with their astounding game tactics.
On the other hand, the women’s competition will also have some of the influential beach volleyball players. For instance, American famous team of Lauren Fendrick and Brooke Hanson is confirmed for the competition.
Moreover, they will be joined by Germany’s Britta Büthe and Karla Borger, Lenka Hajeckova and Hana Klapalova of Czech Republic, Finnish stars Emilia and Erika Nystrom, Marketa Slukova and Kristyna Kolocova, Belgian duo of Mouha Liesbeth and Katrien Gielen
Silva and Switzerland’s Isabelle Forrer and Anouk Vergé-Dépré.
The US female duo is the pre-favourite of the tournament. However, other teams are also determined to display an incredible show of beach volleyball.
Both men’s and women’s tournaments will be opened with qualification games. The qualification games will continue on the second day, while quarterfinals will also be played on Tuesday.
In the next two days, semi-finals and final matches of the tournaments will be played. Finally, the Technion Challenge will come to an end on April 4.
