2012 Thoughts?

Originally, I thought it was the predicted end of the world. But I often wonder if the end of days in a symbol of something less sinister, like a massive global change. Someone says they believe the 2010 theory isn't about the doom we will face, but an englihgment time when we will learn our full potentials. However, looking at mother natures erratic cycles, one would believe that we are soon on our ways to the end of days. I think the more positive theory is more soothing, what do you believe?

To be honest I don't like to think about it. When people are talking about that subject I try to change the subject or ignore it. I guess its because I like to live in the moment. If the world ends in 2012 then it does but we will find out when its 2012, why worry about it now? And ask yourself, what makes 2012 any different than all the other end of the world predictions like in the 80's and Y2K?

I am probably much older than you.  I have been told of one prediction after another by somebody or other from somewhere or other about the end of the world.  So far, it hasn't happened.  

But what bothers me the most is, even with today's problems and issues, Americans are living a much better standard of living, are living longer and are healthier than any time in history.  Yet so many people are obsessed with disasters.  So obsessed that we are even making them up.  

It was not always like this. Years ago, we just pursued happiness and enjoyed life.  That is what I still do.

Well The Mayans predicted 2012 is the end of the world. But I think that they saw their own demise coming, so I think they just wanted to scare the rest of us. Make themselves well known and remembered. If they can't survive because of their gods why should the rest of us think we can?

If you read the bible, there is a verse that says you should not spend anytime worrying about anything because what is going to happen is going to happen or something of that nature. If the year 2012 comes and it is the end, pray now and live your life to the fullest. And besides, only God can make that decision. No one else knows the final day and no one ever will.

But now, I don't think this has to happen this way, it could happen in a matter of months or even centuries... is really not for us to decide.

Think about it.

If someone came up to you and said "Hey, guess what? The world is going to end in 2012" Would you belive them? Exsactly...no. Then why do you belive the guy who said it? Because, honestly, what about 1994, 1995, 1996, ETC, why didn't we die then? NO ONE can predict the FUTURE. Have you ever noticed 80% of the time when the do the weather. and they do the 7 day forcast, the last 4 are usually A. Changed Everyday, B. Wrong or C. A Guess, so...you honestly think they can predict that. I dont, I just roll with whats coming at me. Hope you understand.

I just can't buy into the hype. Yeah, predictions have been made, but predictions were also made for the year 2000...and nothing happened.
