Opener Kevin Kasuza struck a staggering 97 to help Zimbabwe open up the latest U-19 World Cup campaign with a comprehensive 104 run win, at Endeavour Park, Townsville, on Saturday, August 11, 2012.
After being put into bat, Zimbabwe openers Kevin Kasuza and Luke Masasire provided their side with an outstanding three-digit launch pad, pounding the opposition bowlers right from the word go. The duo shared 109-run stand in 24.3 overs. Masasire missed
his half century by three runs while Kasuza fell three runs short of a well deserved ton. However, they played key role in putting the side on course to an intimidating total of 249, in their allotted quota of 50 overs.
Papua New Guinea’s skipper, Christopher http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kent-c802 claimed the first five-wicket haul of the tournament. He was well complemented by Raymond Haoda (3 for 43) and Chad Soper (2 for 27).
In reply, Sese Bau and skipper Kent were the notable performers for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Papua-New-Guinea-c41002, with scores 34 and 24 respectively. Rest of the line-up fell for scores inside 17, as the whole team was bundled out for just 145 in the 39th over.
Zimbabwe opener Kevin Kasuza was named as the man of the match.

Anamul’s phenomenal century was well complemented by Asif Ahmed’s 84, the duo sharing a third-wicket stand of 141 runs – as the Tigers set a competitive 50-over total of 249 for 7. VS de Mel led Sri Lankan attack claiming figures of 3 for 46 in his allotted
quota of 10 overs.
In reply, Ajaddla Jayasinghe (83) took the charge of leading the chase for Sri Lankan on a day when most of its batsmen were off colour. He was well supported by Lahiru Madushanka’s 48, but the efforts of the duo were not enough to take the side home, as
the rest of the line-up fell for scores inside 25.
Soumya Sarkar bagged three wickets in 10 balls as the whole Sri Lankan team was bundled out for 224 in the penultimate over.
Bangladesh skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Anamul-Haque-c44160, clinched the man of the match title.
