2012 Women’s National Sand Volleyball Championship in Pakistan
According to recent information released by the Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF), the 3rd National Women’s Sand Volleyball Championship will be held in the first month of year 2012.
The weeklong campaign of sand volleyball will span over the last week of January. A total of 30 teams from four provinces of the country including Federally Administered Tribal Areas FATA and Azad Kashmir will be on board to contest their game skills, in
order to vie for the national title.
Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad will provide the backdrop for this exciting volleyball campaign.
PVF will allow each affiliated unite to send two teams in the competition, while each team will be composed of two players. Teams from Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan Railways, Pakistan Army, Higher Education Commission, Water and
Power Development Authority (WAPDA), FATA, Pakistan Police, Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Capital Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, Baltistan, Gilgit, and Pakistan Navy will come into stride at the 3rd National Sand Volleyball Championship in Pakistan.
Recently, secretary general Major of Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF), retired Mohammad Afzal, spoke to media personnel and described the main purpose of the championship.
He stated, “In all, thirty teams, each comprising two players, will feature in the week long activity which aims at promoting women’s beach volleyball and to find talent for forming national team to take part in international events abroad. Sand volleyball
is a new concept in Pakistan and it is popular world-wide and this championship will supplement our ongoing effort to further promote this style of volleyball in Pakistan.”  
The wind of change is obviously blowing in Pakistan with the advent of such events, which will not only create an array of entertainment for people but they will also serve as good message for the world. The bad impression of the country will be shaken off.
In the long run, the Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) has bigger plans to go after and arrange more tournament of this nature. PVF has high hopes about the success of this upcoming event and it is also likely that it will attract good number of volleyball
enthusiasts.
