2012? im absolutley terrified.?

Question

this might sound crazy but ive heard so many things about 2012 with the world ending and so many disasters ive honestly had nights of tossing and turning just from thinking about this. i know its far from now but its been in my head for days i dont know what to do i want opinions about this, please no stupid answers i am truely scared :*(

I know how someone could come to think this... I mean believe me were i live my state.. there had been LOTS and i mean LOTS of tornadoes this year.. and plus with the gigantic flood that went through a lot of my state as well.. displacing thousands of ppl.  Its easy to think that it could be for real this time..

but in reality..I think the stuff that comes and goes is just the way things happen.. sometimes you get masive stuff going on all at once.. the world probably will not end in 2012... and if it does it will be of humans doing.  I think the reason why ppl create dooms days is because its hard for their minds to process a time so far in the future...

a distant future is probably the hardest of things to predict...

I am in the EXACT same situation!!!  I found out well, today actually, on Yahoo! Answers.  Now I wish I didn't!  I did a lot of reasearch and I talked to my dad about it and stuff.

1) The calender simply ends, it never clearly says December 21, 2012 - END OF WORLD!!!  My calender ends December 31 2008, that doesn't mean the worlds coming to an end does it?  Apparently it's just the end of a cycle or something like that (12th butkah to the 13th or whatever)

2) The Bible says that no one but God himself will know when this will happen.  Apparently 1000 years of peace will happen but they haven't happened yet so maybe it's that.  I'm not really religous but maybe you are so I added it.

3) Scientists would have figured this out by now if some sort of huge thing was going to happen to the earth.

4) The Mayans couldn't predict when they fell.

5) There have been many predictions about the end of the world.

- June 6, 2006 (6/6/06.  I was at camp that day and had NO idea what so ever of any changes in the world)

None of these have happend have they?  We're still here!

6) How do you think that they could honestly predict that?  They estimated some of the days too or something.  Scientists (not people that lived thousands and thousands of years ago) have said that the world will end in aabout 4 billion years.

I am really scared about this and the more I reasearch the more I fear it.  I doubt it will happen.  I bet it's just some old dude who thinks it would be really funny to scare the sh*t out of a lot of people and try to earn some money out of it! ;)

The more I think about it the more worried I get, then for a little while I'm like "whatever" and then I get that "OH MY GOD" feeling again.  I'm not sure I'm ready to believe that they could predict that.

The wait for "disaster" is KILLING ME!  I could honestly say the past few hours have been some of the worst of my life.  I don't want to die on my High School Grad year!  I hope the next four years won't be ruined for me...

I'm sure we'll be ok though! =D

don't believe in doomsday prophesies. remember what they said about the year 2000? they said that all computers will break down, the bank will lose all your records, bbblah bla bla.. and see what happened?

God loves you and He has a plan for your life, do you think he will let bad things happen such that the whole word will die in an instant? NO WAY! He promised that there will not be a disaster of such magnitude after the flood to Noah.

Even if there will be bad things happening, remember that the devil is lower than God and if God is on your side, there is nothing that you cannot overcome.

He will provide a way for you even if there will be disasters happening.

Take heart, know who is in charge and trust in him. Only Jesus can give you peace.

Personally I dont believe in that stuff, and if the world does end, theres not alot I can do to stop it so I may as well not worry. But if this is causing you great stress and problems sleeping... You should possible see a doctor and get your anxiety addressed. Its nothing silly, your fears could be masking something else.. Depression perhaps. But only you will know if its necessary to go and see a doctor... Good luck and happy thought! :)

Okay, look. If you are a Christian, & believe with all of your being that God sent Jesus to die for your sins, then you don't need to worry about anything. Not even the year 2012. Weather the world ends then or tomarrow we will be delivered. God WILL save us. There's no doubt in my mind of that. What i think you should do is pray to God about it & just let him know that you're worried & he'll help you to not worry. & if you're not a Christian, i say you need to ask your friends to take you to a Christan church so you can hear the message & be saved. Read the Bible too. Just doing that can answer a lot of questions you may have. I hope i helped. :)

Oh, & the world isn't just going to explode. No. Armagedin will happen. Now, the Bible doesn't say weather i that will happen before or after the Christians are deliverd or after, but the point is, we'll be delivered & we need to use the time we have leaft on Earth to whitness to people so they don't have to go to h**l. Read the Left Behind books. They'll really open your eyes.

Well, I figure that the super-volcano at Yellowstone is overdue to explode, so you have good reason to be worried. That is probably one reason so many Americans have become born-again Christians. ;-) When it breaks loose, the US will be decimated.

I think that something BIG will happen around that time....not something big enough to end the world but something big for sure. Quite a bit of prophecies do come true. Nostridomis said that a huge blizzard in 1995 will wipe out humanity...as it turned out, 1995 bred the worst snow storms of the century...not enough to wipe us all out but big nonetheless. I think there are far worse things to be worried about than 2012, like World War III or if you live in any part of the States that is in the line of hurricanes.

The Mayan calender ends in 2012.  That's it! Why does it end in 2012? No one knows. Just because a calender is ending doesn't mean the world will end along with it.
