  1. nobody knows actually. There isn't any scientific evidence or proof for that one. I'm only certain of one thing, the world will end

    but only God knows when

  2. the world is not going to end in 2012. There is no scientific proof, or evidence for that matter. People think that the world is going to end because that’s when the mayan calendar ends. If this is why the world is going to end then we might as well say that the world is going to end on December 31 2009 because no calendars have been printed for 2010 yet. Its an absurd idea that has been shamelessly endorsed by yahoo, google, the news media, and even the history channel.

that’s the short answer. Here’s the long one:

There are a couple theories on how the world will supposedly end in 2012. I will give you examples, and shoot the ideas down for you.

The most popular idea is that planet x, is going to come to the earth and block the sunlight. First of all, it is not “the planet x” it’s “a planet x”. planet x is a generalized term that caught on a couple hundred years ago that was used to describe unknown planets of our solar system. Neptune was once a planet x. astronomers calculated that the orbital period of Uranus was affected by another object, probably a planet, that was beyond Uranus. They calculated the orbital period of this planet x, and found where it would be at a specific time. They saw the planet, and it was no longer considered planet x. it got its name- Neptune. Scientists miscalculated the orbital period of Neptune being affected by another planet, but by chance their miscalculations revealed Pluto. This icy world was also considered planet x, and was first seen in 1930. It was considered a planet until 2006 when it was demoted to a dwarf planet, and now a plutoid. Sedna, quaour, eris, and ceris were all considered planet x’s, and were eventually classified as plutoids.

Now that you know the true definition of a planet x, lets talk about the scientific improbabilities of a planet x that is going to travel all the way to the earth. First of all, I have gone to college, and received a PhD in astronomy and astrophysics and I have never heard of nibiru. According to recent data, there may be another planet larger than earth lying in the kupiter belt. to get to earth it would have to get through the beatings of countless asteroids, and the gravitational pull of the four gas giants of the outer solar system - Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, and Jupiter. I wouldn’t be surprised if it became a moon of one of those planets on its way. Anyway, if it did get through the gas giants, it has to get through another asteroid belt, as well as mars. It will most likely be shot into outer space, or into the sun where it will burn up. If it did manage, by some miracle, to get in front of the earth, it would be in a different gravitational shell. It would be closer, which means it will orbit the sun faster than the earth, therefore it will move away from us. So that’s not going to happen.

Another theory is about the asteroid. Its going to hit earth or whatever. Here’s why it won’t work: the asteroid has to take the same path to get to the earth as planet x, but it is even smaller, and will take more of a beating. If it got through everything, it would just crash into our moon probably. If it did come to earth, the atmosphere would burn it up so much that there would probably be nothing left for it to hit earth.

All other theories are just as absurd. Nothing is going to happen in 2012, except for the same things that could happen any other year.

  3. No, it's not real.  It would be more like 2013 or some other odd number.

  4. i HOPE so!

I stopped paying all my bills and just sent in a note saying "Will be PAID IN FULL on Dec 22, 2012"

if the world DOESN'T end, I am in a LOT of trouble!

(i was wondering, though, why the guy that wrote my 2012 reference guide "The Big Golden Book of Doomsday" actually CHARGED me $30.00 for it?  I mean, he'd better spend it quick, don't cha think?)

  5. You didn't see any "evidence".

What you saw was speculation, myth, or outright wrong information.

    1. Nibiru doesn't exist.

    2. A nuclear war could happen tomorrow, or anytime - nothing special about 12/21/2012.

    3. Magnetic pole shifts take thousands of years to happen (according to current measurements, if the magnetic field continues to weaken at the same rate as right now, the field will collapse around 3000 AD).

    4. Axial pole shifts CANNOT happen - that would require the Earth stopping its rotation and starting to rotate the other way.  There is nothing that can do that.

    5. There are hundreds of Near Earth Objects (big asteroids) that get close to Earth - they are all being tracked daily.  The only one that seemed to be a threat was 99942 Apophis, but it won't get anywhere close to Earth until 2036.

A little research of your own goes a long way - why worry yourself over something without knowing the facts.

  6. no that when a astroid is suppose to come slose to earth not hit us or any of that bullshit maby in 2036 it will

  7. god is the only one who knows the true date the world will come to a stop. and all those rumors are true but volcanic explosions, earthquakes and black holes are normal but somethings in the world are distroyed becuz of us sadly. remember 6/6/06 was the end of the world? but it wasnt was it? and the mayan calender ends in that year but the mayians ( or how ever its spelled) say its the start of of a great time.so dont be scared its not true god bless u.

  8. no the worlds is not gonna end!!!!! there is about 8 different stories about whats going to happen, there NOT true!!!!!

  9. Nibiru is supposed to be a planet.  If it were heading towards us, we'd have seen it by now.  It takes quite a while to get something from as close as Neptune to here.  Comet Haley only orbits out that far, but can be detected by modern telescopes at that distance.  Nibiru, even if really dark like Comet Haley's nucleus, would have been detected long ago.

People have been predicting that the world will end.  But in 2013, the year 2012 will be known as the year that the Earth didn't end.

And yet, the world will end, eventually.  By not specifying a date or time, i'm certain to be right.

  10. relax. if it is just a planet orbiting , nothing will happen.

if there are a lot of  new planets that ppl discover , that means all of them will create doomsday crud for us ? ! NO!

    those are hoax!!!

  11. Ah.  Someone has added nuclear wars and volcanic explosions.

This contest of lies is really getting big.

The Big 2012 Hoax Off is working very well, don't you think?  Hoaxers have books and video to sell and they must scare as many people as possible in order to sell them.  No wonder they keep making stuff up.

So far, every time I check out something related to 2012 to see if it could, perhaps, maybe, cause worldwide mayhem, it turns out to be false.

Many "predictions" are completely impossible, others are ordinary things made to sound dangerous.

"There will be a maximum of solar activity"

Sure, there is one every 11 years.  Do you know anyone who is older than 11?  Then that proves it is possible to survive a solar maximum.

Nibiru is a fictitious planet.  Even the guy who invented it is fed up to see "his" planet associated with the Big 2012 Hoax Off.  He had calculated the return for 2085 (or later).

    and so on...

  12. no. this is nothing more than a cruel and cynical hoax. you should know better.

  13. You can relax.  You will not find a legitimate scientist anywhere who believes in any of the nonsense that has been floating around.  That, in itself, should tell you something.

This is a myth based on the irresponsible, (and repeated) airing of a ridiculous pseudo-documentary on the History Channel. That network, and the Discovery Channel and Fox, will air anything they feel will get a bigger audience. Sometimes, their shows are good and worth watching. Other times, they are foolish, sensationalist, tabloid-style hype. It is often difficult to tell which is which, unless you know about a subject. I know about the history of doomsday predictions, pseudoscience, and astronomy.

The Mayan calendar does not predict the end of the world. They did keep an accurate calendar, but contrary to popular opinion, never predicted any world event accurately. They couldn't predict their own demise; why should they be able to predict ours?

The alignment with the galactic center is not going to happen. It comes fairly close to happening EVERY year on Dec 21, and will be exactly the same as it always is, in 2012. Even if some perfect alignment did occur, there is nothing about it that could affect the earth. It's like saying, "When these three parking spaces are occupied by three red cars, the world will come to an end."

Doomsday prophets have always been around and they are always wrong. Every 5 to 10 years, some prediction catches the public's attention and scares a lot of kids...usually thanks to irresponsible media decisions. Dozens of different doomsday scenarios have been piggy-backed on to this date since the show aired. Go to this site to see how many predicted apocalypses we have already missed.

All that Nibiru stuff is bunk, too. No such planet has ever been discovered. The claim that it was discovered some 25 years ago is not true.

  14. You guys, PLEASE STOP ASKING THIS QUESTION

  15. It's all fraud and delusion.  That's the short answer.  I'm too sick of this question at the moment to type out why.

  16. Is it the end...definately the end of this question..althought it will be revised to another date.
