  1. No. Just the Mayan calendar.

  2. There is absolutely nothing to suggest that 2012 is going to be the end of the world.

It's true that the current cycle of the Mayan calendar will end in 2012.  It will be the thirteenth time this has happened, and the world didn't end the last twelve times.  Honestly it would make just as much sense to argue that the world will end on the 31st of December this year, since that's when the current cycle of the Gregorian calendar ends.

  3. The world is not going to end. They said the same thing about 2000, 2001 and 2004.

The only thing that's going kill off human kind is human kind.

  4. The world is not going to end at 2012.The world is going to end soon, but we don't know when & how it end.Anyway, don't think too much about it.Just do your best.

  5. The Mayan calendar ends with the year 2012, thus leading to speculation among the illogical that this is a "sign" that the world will end in2012.

You have to question any "prediction" without scientific evidence or you might as well worship inanimate objects, consult your magic 8 ball or Ouija board.

  6. you dont really need information to support that, you should just be able to think of the question, then answer it yourself with common sense.

oh yeah, NO the world is not going to end in 2012.

  7. No, the world is not going to end in 2012.

If I am proven wrong, I apologize in advance.

  8. It could be 28 minutes from now or 280 years from now. When the superpowers square off against each other in two camps, then come back and we'll talk apacolypse.

Until then, just think regional conflicts, wars between rump states, proxy wars and brinksmanship. If you recall the Yom Kippur War in 1973, a coalition of Arab States (Egypt, Syria and Jordan) were soundly defeated by the Israelis. That was a worse situation than the current conflict and it didn't raise a blip on the world war radar (not that it didn't have the potential to spark a global war).

The next World War will involve a nuclear exchange, how could it not. In the first 30 minutes, nearly a billion people will have been vaporised, mostly in the US, Russia, Europe, China and Japan. Another 1.5 billion will die shortly thereafter from radiation poisoning. The northern hemisphere will be plunged into prolonged agony and barbarity.

Eventually the nuclear winter will spread to the southern hemisphere and all plant life will die. You ask when is the apacolypse, you are asking when will we commit global suicide. My answer is it won't happen soon because the larger superpowers are more rational than the rump states in the middle east.

Our biggest risk is an accidental launch of nukes by one of the nuclear powers.

  9. there is no end to that which has no beginning.

  10. who told you? maybe we dont know we are still here but definitely no such things. stop it trying to find it...not true at all.

  11. People have been predicting this forvever and ever. Just keep living your life and don't worry so much.

  12. There is going to be a planet alignment that we have never seen before. It is speculated that with this alignment it will interrupt our gravitational pull and throw earth off its axes which could have devestational consequences. Just type 2012 into your search bar for more info.

  13. there is some kind of comet that comes around that year that mind crash into earth so we might end up like the dinosaurs   ... but that is worst case cenario

  14. They have been predicting the end of the world since the beginning of time. The end of the world for you will be the day you die, meaning we all have a date in this life. No one knows for certain when this will be, and you shouldn't be too concerned. Live you life, and don't listen to stupidity.

  15. If you remember, the year 2000, new years eve, was meant to be the end of the world, courtesy of the Y2K bug. It never happened. Your always going to have doomsayers predicting the end of civilisation. Nobody knows when it will happen. It will sneak up on us on a lazy Sunday afternoon and catch us all unawares. Don't panic, realistically we have thousands of years before we should panic. Enough time for you and me to live our lives without any fear.

  16. NO.

    it is a big myth.

    Pluto

  17. People who misunderstand the Mayan calendar is the source of this rumor. The Mayans had two calendars: one that ran 365 days long that they used for planning their crop planting and another that ran 260 days long and was used for planning their religious festivals.

Most of the time these two calendars recycled around to a new year on different days, but every few hundred years or so, the two New Year Days landed on the same day--at that signaled the end of an Age in their cosmology. Supposedly the gods would restart the world at that time.

That recycling is supposed to happen next in 2012. Or 2047 if you fix their agricultural calendar to included leap year days. If you believe in their gods, yes the world will end and get reborn in 2012. If you don't, you might as well prepare for college and start taking recycling seriously.

  18. Every decade (or more, sometimes) there is always an 'end of the world' scare.  Guess what?  We're still here.  People that obsess over the end of the world - I wonder what they should be called, because, in my opinion, its not normal!!  But, then, who am I to judge normal (*twitches)?  Hunnie, don't worry yourself about the end of the world.  What will be, will be.  Theres nothing you can do to change it - live every day like its your last - that way you can never have any regrets.

  19. I don't believe the end to be predictable at all. I mean, think about it. What kind of proof would assure it to us? Absolutely nothing. I wouldn't worry about it. If it is, it is. If it's not, it's not. Just live your life now and make the most of it while there's still time.

  20. No. How old are you?

  21. I think that on 12/13/12 all of those individuals who believe in the nonsense of the world ending on 12/12/12 will be embarassed, and then will glom on to another date, such as 13/13/13.

End-of-the-world nutcases have been with us for several thousand years, and will continue to go on for thousands more.

  22. I think it's a hoax but only time will tell.  Remember Y2K?  Yeah, that turned out to be a joke so I wouldn't get too worried.  By the way, there is no scientific proof that the world is going to end in 2012, just theories and speculation.

  23. Holy c**p...

I heard 1999 was the end cause it was 666 flipped. I bet they said the same thing in 1666. I give crazy heretics 0 merit in guessing the end of the world.

THat infamous calander does stop at 2012... but why should we assume that it means the world ends. Maybe they just didnt want to keep carving on the thing.
