20th Birthday Ideas- San Diego?

Im turning 20 on a Saturday coming up and can't figure out what to do. My birthdays in the past haven't been that great and I want this one to be special. Im planning on celebrating it with maybe 7-10 people and have considered going to an 18 club but Im not sure about that because I can't dance/drink and feel as if I would be awkward/left out at my own party. A party at my house would be nice, but honestly, thats a fairly regular thing for me.

Does anyone have any ideas? Something sophisticated sounds appealing, where I might dress up, have a limo take us somewhere maybe? Know of any good places in san diego to celebrate a birthday?Also, what about a nice restaurant to go to? (BJs, The Olive Garden and Cheesecake Factory are so overdone, although very yummy:) )

rapunggi and japengo are really good. Japengo doesn't look that special but it is really great. both are restaurants.

Location: If you are talking something classy and sophisticated rent our a small ball room area in a hotel, have some tables set, a D.J. and maybe expand it to 15 people. Hotel is nice for an evening approach.

A more daytime or sunset approach might I suggest the beach. It is calm, cool, and you can use some of the space to have a small get together with some music.

Dining: B.F. Changs, for something simple and casual. Or if you want something expensive and casual go to a white table cloth restaurant, maybe a nice steak house.

Location really depends on what your looking for if you want a small party or event higher an event planner they can get you what you want anytime.

Try the STATIC LOUNGE AND CAFE at the Gaslamp downtown San Diego. It is an 18+ club.   Go to Yelp.com to see the reviews of this place and other businesses in San Diego.  Has great dinner places on it for any type of food.

i like bj's! and cant go wrong with my olive garden...i jus turned 20 last month, ya it sucks cuz its jus waiting till you r 21...i jus went out to eat on my bday then had a little fiesta(thats all u can do with drinks and stuff) and its fun wit all your friends....then the following thursday i went to belo night club in downtown its 18 and up on some thursdays.  jus drink before you go in!!!! :)  happy bday! cant wait to b 21!
