21 yr Old Female Joining the Navy?

Hi!! I am 21 yrs old planing to join the Navy, I need advised from all the females in the Navy, What is it like? Is it hard for females? what about Boot-camp? Do u get treated different? Do u wear a (swim suit) and what type during the swim test????Please help...I need all the advice you could give me...Thx :)

good idea go for it i did it & i never saw or spoken to my parents for 2 yrs now i have a great job as a dentist & a business associate have a wonderful family & house...so just go for it & once your there the only thing that should be open are your eyes & ears & decipline...good luck

As a navy recruiter in Cleveland Ohio I'd say go for it!!  Don't worry about the female thing.  I still keep in contact with most of the females that have joined here in Cleveland, males too and so far not one of them said it was hard.  The hardest thing is being away from cell phones, TV's, and the luxuries of life that some have.  

You will go through one day of swimming, thats it.  Our job in the navy is on top of the water, not in the water.
