  1. um honestly bullet placement is key ive hunted up to deer and feral hogs with a 22-250, and my actual gun of choice for hog hunting is a 22LR. I know a lot of people say that that is dumb but for the sake of my arguement i can fling 10 rds of 22 ammo at a hog before most can get two heavier rounds through a bolt action, but i am also a one shot one kill kinda guy, but this is all senseless rambling go with the gun you think you'll enjoy the most because everyone has their favorites and with lots of practice just about any caliber will get the job done to a certain point

  2. i own both rifles in 223 and 22-250, the difference i can pick is the 22-250 is a lot louder, the recoil is harder and its flatter shooting and more expensive than my 223, which i can punch holes at cats and crows at 300mts, where my 223 will shoot flat to 250mts, but with ammo reloading i now can get improved results on both, no doubt, but for standard ammo they're both a great caliber and a great rifle. i love them both. i'll die with them.

  3. Either round is enough to kill a coyote grave yard dead. The .22-250 will give you more range, but it won't kill coyotes any easier than a .223.
I can personally attest that a 50 grain vmax in a .223 will slaughter a coyote. The same 50 grain vmax in a .22-250 will just let me do it from furhter away. If you already have one, there is no need to get the other. If you have neither, get the .22-250.

  4. 22-250 with a heavy a*s barrel, with a leupold 4x16 tactical scope is the best coyote round in the world it works great on coyote, up to wolves

  5. It's all personal preference along with your shooting skill and budget.  A coyote is a pretty small target at 400+ yards for any rifle.  Unless you have a stationary position with a bipod and you are well practised it's a tough shot. As for killing power, shot placement is where it's at.  A good bullet in the right spot is all you need to kill any animal. Sure the .22-250 starts faster (I own one and reload for it and love it) but if you can't hit your target because you're a crappy shot it doesn't matter if you're hunting with a .700 nitro express or a .22 LR.  Bullets nowadays are very forgiving and most guns will outshoot the shooter any day of the week.  Unless you hit the range a few times a week and spit out a few thousand rounds a year then get used to missing a few.  That's what hunting is all about.  Have fun with whatever chambering you have. Remember advice is free, but experience takes time and commitment.  Anyone can B.S. there way to the top. Have fun.

  6. Both would be appropriate calibres but the 22-250 will out shoot the 223 in most cases , at the same distances it will simply be the harder hitting flatter shooting calibre . Most standard loads for the two often fire 50 or 55 grain projectiles although the 250 has a bigger charge the 223 has a tighter twist rate 1-10 which stabilizes better but realy go for the 22-250.
