22 Days, 5 Eggs, No hatching!!?

Question

I found the 1st egg June 24, 2008...got a bird house...then 4 eggs followed. 2 males/2 females.....It's been 22 days and no hatching of the eggs. Are they dead or what> One male and 1 female take turns sitting on the eggs....How long does it take for the babies to hatch?

Depends on the type of bird you are talking about.You start counting from the day the last egg was layed.As long as they are still sitting then I would leave them alone and see what happens.Dont disturb the nest or they might stop sitting.most birds are good at hatching their eggs as long as they are left alone.

and dont mess with the birds and their incubating they might ditch the eggs!

What kind of birds? You count the time from the last egg laid. and add a week if nothing happens pitch them
