Ive just gotten back from the shooting range and i shot a .22 revolver (first time) Ive got some bullets for it and ive got bullet that i just picked up off the ground at the range. Its obviously a .22 but its got a hole in the top of the bullet, and i can twist the bullet around in the cartrige. Does this still have powder in it and is it still active? I wanted to make a necklace out of it or something. Let me know please. I will provide pics if necessary.

  1. Sounds to me like you found a hollow point bullet. If this is so don't worry, it's not a factory defect or anything. A hollow tip bullet is designed with the full intention to kill. It has a hole in the top so that when it penetrates a body it will split open, just about tripling its size, and six razor sharp points cut everything it touches to bits.

Here's the wiki link and it has some pictures to compare it to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hollow_poin...

Also, droping a bullet will not cause it to go off. Modern bullets are made so that they'll only go off if one of two things occures.

    1. The bullet gets to hot. You'll be safe so long as you're not storing them in your oven, ha ha.

    2. The primer is hit, as in when fired from gun. The primer is the little circle on the back of the bullet.

So don't worry about droping it.

  2. thats a tall freakin dresser but im not gonna say it wont but it shouldnt go off if it fell escspecially if it falls on carpet.

  3. hmm..idk throw it at your neighbors mailbox tonight and see.
