  1. The most common cause for being excessively tired in pregnancy is a low level of iron. But if you are taking your vitamins then that shouldn't be the problem. For the most part it is just how your body is handling this pregnancy. When you are pregnant your body is working 25% harder then usual when you are at rest. That is a lot when you think about it. Many women get tired in pregnancy... I can't make it through the day without a nap and even then I'm exhausted.

The best advice is to make sure you are doing some sort of exercise (crazy I know but it helps), rest when you need it and let someone else take over a bit. Once baby comes you will be even more tired so get the rest you can right now and remember that this doesn't last forever.

    Good Luck.

  2. Could be a normal symtom for you, but you still have a ways to go until your third trimester.

Agreed, have your doctor check your iron levels-that is a sign of low iron in your system.

  3. Get used to it...you are only going to get more tired the more pregnant you are.  It's completely normal.

  4. It's probably normal, but you should talk to your doctor or midwife about it during your next check-up just to ease your mind. Your blood sugar could be too low (or too high), or your iron level could possibly be low. These things can happen even if you're eating well and drinking plenty of fluids.

But you're probably just tired because your heart and lungs are working harder, you're carrying around some extra weight, and you're the entire source of energy for another being. :-)

Keep up the good health habits and try to get a little more rest than normal.  Best wishes to you!
