23 month son always runs into walls??

My son is always tripping and running into walls. He constantly has bruises and goose eggs on his forhead. He was born premature and had a vision test before he left the hospital, he passed. I had him in yesterday because he hit the wall hard and I was worried, we went to the eye doctor and he said everything with his eyes looked normal. Is there anything else that could be wrong or is this typical 2 year old behavior?

  1. awesome

  2. WOW I would take him to a pediatrician. My husbands little niece would do that until she got eye glasses. but  you already had you baby and they say is fine and keeps doing that its kinda weird. I would tell all this to the doc see what he suggest.

  3. I have a two year old well now 2.5 but anyways she use to do that all the time. We classify it at having my clutsy genes...lol I wouldnt be to worried unless he knocks himself crossed eye. OBTW she has now grown out of it. I think it was a mix of get there fast and excitement all the time.

  4. have his vision tested again, now he's older an maybe his little vision might be the cause of him doing this.when did he start walking?you should have him tested and seen by you're pediatrician.good luck.

  5. Do his feet turn inwards? My daughters did and she was always on teh floor :)

Luckily they fixed themselves, but boys also are that active that its so normal.

My 3 year old son has bruises all over his legs.

    Typical boys  think.

23 months do have a lot of trouble stopping and turning, so yup, they go straight into a wall.

    i wouldn't worry at all :)

  6. I would have him checked out again by a pediatrician. His equilibrium may be to blame. Most of the time, its just your average 2 year old. They get wrapped up in things that they fail to pay attention to their surroundings. My son is almost 18 months and smacked his head right into my friends doorway in the living room. He wasnt watching where he was going because he was too interested in watching the kitty. It would be a wise decision to have him checked out.

    Good luck!!
