Question:

23 on the ACT?!?

I recently took the ACT for the first time and received a 23 composite score. My subscores were: English - 22. Mathematics - 17. Reading - 31. Science - 21.

I was hoping to at least get a 25 and this is really disappointing! Is a 23 really terrible? I'm sure my mathematics score brought it down and I think I could do better in english next time. I really want to get into the University of Oklahoma and you need at least a 24 on the ACT to get accepted. Is there any way I could raise my score? I will be a senior in the fall.

  1. I´m not really sure. I took the ACT in 7th grade and made like a 21. So i´m guessing yours should be higher. Try talking to the school counselour about retaking it. I´m sure something could be worked out. Good Luck. Hope i helped:).

  2. 23 is pretty good and can get you to just about any college unless you're wanting ivy league stuff

  3. Take the test again.  Here are some tips:

One thing that helped me was practacing time management. You really need to watch the clock.  Also, if you know you're not going to make the individual test deadline, guess!  It won't hurt you and it could actually give you the needed boost to get you to your goal of 24.

  4. Yeah you can raise your score just study a lot for these tests

take practice tests, get used to the format and youll be fine

  5. To raise your score, simply study and try again. It's not a one-shot thing. You can even take years before you go to college. Relax and focus.

  6. I think you need to look into that one a little more.

Besides universities look at other things such as gpa, and class rank when deciding to accept students.

  7. thats a good score but if you need a 24 to get into the college you just said...well then all you can do is retake the test and hope you do better.
