I have a european appliance that says 230V (below that 50-60Hz, 1500W)--all the transformers I'm finding convert to 220 or 240--does that matter at all, or will one of those work just fine. I'm seeing them on amazon for 19-30 bucks--is that a good price?

  1. People call it various voltages but it's all the same.  There's a range that goes from 220 to 240 volts.  The transformer's voltage is fine but you need to make sure it can handle the watts.  The transformer has to be rated at 1500 watts or more.  If it only gives amps, that would be 7 amps or more.
