  1. it did lose its prestige. it becme a comedy title. come on matches in a ball pit and an airport?it bacame a comedy title but it did have some great matches

  2. If they had relegated the 24/7 rule to the show, I would have been ok with it.  But when people were getting attacked in hotel rooms, it became kinda lame and lost its prestige.  But you do have to admit that a title that is defended at ALL times, not just every PPV like every other title, was a really good idea.  I just think they went in the wrong direction with it.

  3. of course it did for gods sake Stevie richards won it over 20 times and RAVEN held it the most times holding it 26 times.

  4. It lost its prestige SOMEWHAT.  You see, the 24/7 rule caused it to gain a new type of prestige...  the "Will it be lost tonight?" prestige.  Some wrestlers still managed to keep the belt a long time during that run, like Raven, Rhyno, and Steve Blackman.

But it was really done ON PURPOSE to kill the prestige, because at one point, the Hardcore title was deemed by the fans above the Tag and European championships.  Something WWF didn't want to happen.  It was also why Eric Bischoff got rid of it when he came in, the belt STILL was considered higher than the Euro and Tag belts.

Personally, I liked the rule.  I loved the uncertainty of the title holder.  Especially since the matches could happen at any time.  I just wish they would have had something for the website, like matches happening on days that the show wasn't happening.  That would have made the rule even cooler.

  5. When it first came out, I thought it would only be defended in hardcore natches. But that 24/7 thing made it a joke. Any chomp could win the title by hitting someone with a Crow bar or anything out in the parking lot for example.

Yeah, I made it a phony championship

  6. It kind off lost prestige with the likes of Gerald Bisco, and Pat Patterson were battling out for that title but it has some classical matches with Al Snow and Big Bossman which I believe it was back at PPV or a Raw episode back in Minnapolise Minnesota in 1998 when it wasn't suitable for kids.
