  1. Legally, no. But some of us grownups would benefit from some sort of boost to fit the seatbelt right. Even my old Aunt Edith knew this. She never drove without her phone books. To sit on. :)

To tell whether one would help you, check to see if the seatbelt fits you correctly. The shoulder belt should go across your shoulder, NOT your neck. The lap belt should go across your lap, the tops of your thighs, NOT your belly. If your belt doesn't fit you correctly, the fact is that it could cause you serious injury in an accident. (Although - don't use that fact to just not wear a belt, you're still safer in one than without one).

If the seatbelt doesn't fit you correctly, find a thick cushion to use. Expirament a little. Or get a big piece of soft foam from the craft store and cover it. Or, go to Walmart and get the widest backless booster seat you can find.  It may seem a little odd to use one (though I wish more people would for their own safety) but if it helps you be a better driver and keeps you safe, pay no attention to what anyone else says. Seatbelts in cars were made to fit someone who is at least 4'9" tall AND at least 80lbs.

  2. no!!! in most states there is a weight limit but also and age restriction for car seats.

  3. What you need to get are pedal extensions and they are sold just about everywhere.
