  3. Thumbs up to Mark Andrew M, there are some names missing from your list that need to be considered:

Both Marquez brothers Juan Manuel and Raoul

    Israel Vasquez

    Antonio Margarito

    Joshua Clottey

    Samuel Peter

    James Toney

All have arguments in their favor.

Great Question, and your list is good, but it does bring some arguments to the table.

  5. i'll trade you floyd for ......... oh say butterbean even....lol.... the rest we see eye to eye

  6. hopkins second??? come on hopkins is gonna get dominated on saturday by a younger, stronger, basically invisible fighter Calzaghe!

Floyd definately number one, de la hoya is garbage he hasnt ever beat a fighter that is in his prime, hatton is a way better fighter as far as careers go and to this current day.

but a good list you know your boxing

  7. There are a few things that don't seem quite right about this list.  I'm not saying its a bad list, but there are a few things that stick out such as:

Roy Jones in the top 10: I don't think that he has done anything recently to warrant a top 10 ranking- beating Anthony Hanshaw was good, but not THAT good and beating a past his prime, and overweight Felix Trinidad does not warrant a top 10 ranking in my eyes.  I think Roy was the best of his era, but not currently.  If he beats the winner of Hopkins-Calzaghe, then I would put him in the top 5.

Oscar De La Hoya in the top 10:  It is arguable that he could be in the top 20 because he did show a strong effort in losing to #1 Floyd Mayweather, Jr.  However, losing fights does not get you in the top 10 and the only one that Oscar has beaten since 2004 is Ricardo Mayorga- that does not warrant a top 10 ranking in my eyes.

I don't see how you have Juan Diaz above Nate Campbell when Campbell just beat him.  I also don't see how you have David Diaz above Nate Campbell either because his accomplishment over a faded Erik Morales does not match Campbell's accomplishment over a prime Juan Diaz.

Felix Trinidad has not won a fight since 2004- enough said...

I don't think that Paul Williams deserves a spot in the top 20 after losing to Carlos Quintana.  If he beats Quintana in the rematch, then I would probably put him back in the top 20.

I don't see how Calvin Brock is in the top 20 after getting brutally knocked out by Wladimir Klitschko and losing to Eddie Chambers.

I don't see how Zab Judah is on the list after getting beat by Carlos Baldomir, handled by Mayweather, and getting thrashed by Cotto.  He has only beat two club fighters since the loss to Cotto and that does not warrant a ranking of any kind.  If he beats Mosley, then I may consider putting him in the top 20.

Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera are currently no longer active, although there are rumors that they both want to come back.  In any case, they are both coming off losses and they don't deserve a ranking in the top 25.  I also don't see how they are on your list, but Juan Manuel Marquez is no where to be seen...

Ike Quartey has not fought since 2006, and he's comming off back to back losses even though the loss to Vernon Forrest was a robbery.  He has got to beat a top opponent before I put him in the top pound for pound rankings.

  12. READ:

Youve got Mosley behind DLH when he's beat him twice. Another thing is youve got Mayweather ahead of Cotto When he beat Mosley whos beat then DLH and  Cotto also beat Judah by Tko last year unlike Floyd who beat him by UD and Judah could easily beat Hatton so why isnt Cotto 1. And wheres QUINTANA whos a champ who beat paul williams  and only loss is to Cotto or RICARDO TORRES who is a champ w/ only one loss to Cotto or PAULIE MALINAGGI who also has a belt whos only loss is to Cotto as well d**n ive jus convinced myself Cotto Is Pound for Pound the best drop money to 3 Pavlik to 2 and cotto to 1
