Question:

24" or 22" wheels for my Tahoe?

I'm shopping for custom wheels for my new Tahoe and I'm debating between 24s and 22s. I have stock 20s on it now and I've heard that bigger wheels will make a rougher ride. 24s will probably look better but is that ride much rougher than if I went 22s?

  1. i agree wit aaron c but if u decide to possible go larger than 24" dont that is when the ride gets rough and u should get run flat tires so if u get a flat ur rim wont be screwed up

  2. Down grade your Tahoe to something that uses less fossil fuel, or convert it to biodiesel before you spend any $$ on wheels.

  3. depends on what you do, and how much air you put in the tires.

24's cost more, but give more traction, while 22's are the cheaper entry-level ruggedness option.

for a soft ride, get the 24's but dont fill the tires all the way, give it the tinyest amount of give and it will be awesome.

  4. get what ever size you want but remember when you upgrade your rims tires you should also upgrade your rotors to slotted rotor and hawk break pads or ebc pads  because it will be harder to stop because you have a larger rotating mass to stop. as for a ruff ride just make sure you have good shocks and springs. the harder ride comes from a small side wall on the tires. less area to absorb some impact ...also you get the same amount of traction from a 22 or 24 inch tire its the tire compound and what its made of that  negates traction and or a rear locker or posi

  5. You won't feel a difference with the 22s. It'll ride almost as good as before. Play it safe and get some nice 22s with nice tires.

  6. Yea man 22's are as big as you want to go on a Tahoe, anything bigger would just ruin your ride and suck on gas milage.

Go with the 22's they will look cleaner.

  7. WONT MATTER MUCH IF THEY ARE 22S OR 24S,WHAT YOU DO NEED TO ADDRESS IS THE GEOMETRY OF THE SUSPENSION,AND WHAT THE XTRA HEIGHT WILL EFFECT THE HANDLING OF YOUR SUV.ITS ALREADY TOP HEAVY,AND USING ANY TYPE OF LIFT KITS WILL PREMATURILY WEAR OUT YOU FRONT END.
