24"L x 12"W x16" H is that good for a adultd leopard gecko?

i have a question is a size 20 gallon high aqaurinum good for a leopard gecko the size is 24"L x 12"W x16" H because thats the tank i got for my leopard gecko?

  1. Yes thats great for one he will be very happy.


  2. With a tall/high tank, you're going to:

    1.) have trouble regulating your heat with your basking lamp and UTH mat,

    2.) a 15 gal. will be a bit cramped for a 9-12" adult (the recommended minimum is a 20 gal. long.  A reptile breeder 20 is even better, as it offers more floor space),

    3.) it's going to be difficult to provide the approx. 10 degree F. gradient from the warm end temp. to the cool end temp.,

    4.) The gecko needs two hides (one warm end, one cool end) and a moisture hide ( http://www.leopardgeckowiki.com/wiki/ind... ).  This takes up floor room.
