My 1998 Nissan maxima has had a good life. I dont know if i want to get another nissan maxima or 240sx.

I want people to look at my car and say "wow you really have a nice car you must have worked hard on it"

basically which car is better looking after being tuned?

  1. Well most people prefer the 240SX but personally I think that the 94- models are ugly and the 97+ models are too. I'd get a 95 240SX and a S15 front end conversion for looks but if you ever plan on getting married and having kids you are better to be getting a Maxima.

I get nothing but **** from my girlfriend's mom for having an old sedan. The younger guys at autozone tend to gawk a little bit when I open up my hood and they notice that I've got a VG30 just like the 300ZX. My dad's friend is a mechanic for a Buick dealership and he gawked a bit at my work on the engine the other day.

  2. go with the 240 but....... If you can get the 97- 98 models, especially if ur a Jdm feign. But the best look is the 240 and parts wise you find greater access to them.

  3. kinda answered your questions right there. if you want your car to scream "RICER" then go ahead and get a 240. jdm...pffft, jdm = hoduh man. again = rice. yeah, maximas's are grocery getters, but done right can be a very nice sleeper. theres a guy here in my town with a 4th gen maxima, and he's running 302 hp at the wheels. yes at the wheels. and his car, will run down a 240, its not really about the car you have, its how deep your pockets are.

  4. 240 looks better in every way than maxima...  and it has value

any 240 model looks good if you tuned it right,,, but I like 96+

maxima is not worse to work on...no point at all...

  5. 240sx + Sr20det + 3.5 grand in upgrading = 400 hp car to the wheels

(i got one) need more power then that?

I laugh at Mustangs And M3's

  6. What years?

    S13 generation 240sx or S14 generation 240sx.

New Maxima or the older design.

I personally think the 240sx S13 looks the best stock and tuned because it is sporty.

But the Maxima is much more practical since you can drive it in snow and it has 4 doors.

  7. u can just fix up ur car i mean it be cheaper and u can make it look how u want it. u dont want to buy a new car and waste more money coutimizein it so i would just fix it up and not wate my money on a new one. rarely now a day no car comes coutiomize lol

  8. if would have to go with the 240sx, manly the s14 97-98 with the eagle eye head lamps.  plus parts for the 240sx are endless, no matter what kind you own.  I have been working with 240, and silvia's for about 5 years now, and i still keep finding part and rare or crazy upgrades that make even me say GOD D@#M.  plus engine swaps are more popular for the 240's.  sr, rb, vq, ls1's and ls2's, even the kat's  are all great engine that can easily be swapped with no or light mods to the engine bay of drivetrain, and each of these engine in the nissan or other car community's are know to put the power to the ground.  and plus it rear wheel drive, so its funner and cooler then any fwd.  And since your into looking good, theres gobbs of body mods and clip swap for the 240.   Say you have a s13, but you want it to look like a s14, of a silvia s15, of the traditional s13 silvia clip, guess what,  you can do it, all the hard work for the newer model swap have been done and can be bought off the internet as conversion kit.

  9. Wow.. whatever you do don't get another 1998 Maxima. Don't even get one up to 2002. Those things are eye sores.. Anyway, the 240SX is a good choice.

If you aren't into drifting, go for a 2000-2005 Celica GTS. They are cheap and fun to drive and IMO a better looking car than the somewhat dated 240SX.
