  1. 24k would be for a dial-up connection, while 64k would be more suited for DSL or broadband.

    Which is better for you would depend on the connection you have.

    as it was said 24k is for dial up and people who are using their internet connections to the max (or those worried more about content than quality)

    64k is better quality and better suited for high speed dsl/cable/t-line/fiber

    but I've seen many now at 128k but are rare due to the cost of streaming that kind of quality on the net

  3. 24K & 64k refer to the (kilo)bits per second. Obviously the more bits, the better the sound. If you have a choice, go for 64 if it's music, but easily settle for 24 if it's just talk.

    But, as the other member said, it depends on your service . If you want 64 you may have to upgrade if you are not on cable or DSL (in the US at least), so you may not have a choice.
