Question:

25 years later--what of the Korean Flight 007 survivors?

25 years ago on Sept 1, 1983, the Soviets shot down KAL 007. The preponderance of evidence since indicates the plane was not destroyed and the survivors were taken captive, especially Congressman McDonald, who was on board and was a person of interest to the Soviets. Why the conspiracy of silence on their survival? Read the following accounts before you answer.

  1. There were no survivors. Nobody gets shot down from that altitude and lives to tell about it.

The "evidence" is pretty suspect. Nobody has EVER ditched a 747 successfully. Compound that with trying to do it at night after getting hit with an air to air missile, you're talking absurdities rather than plausibilities. Just more conspiracy rubbish.

  2. Just another wacko conspiracy theory.

  3. Pick a site with a little more mainstream monitoring for accuracy.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KAL_007

  4. There are a large number of inconsistencies in both the American and Russian accounts of what happened to this flight. Far too many to go into detail here.

What the aircraft was doing over the Kamchatka Peninsula and whether it was there accidentally or intentionally will probably never be known, but as was mentioned a 747 is not likely to survive a night ditching in the ocean even if it were undamaged. Add in the damage caused by an air-to-air missile strike and the chances of any passengers or crew surviving the incident is infinitesimally small.
