250GB Maxtor, Onetouch 4, External Hard Drive

Question

A recent software down-load occured on 5-28-08. My wife did not recognize it and had it removed along with the desktop icon. Later we find out that it was organizing software or updating software for the Maxtor that we do indeed own.
Is it possible to send the update again? What do you recommend?
