does any one know of a way to convert the new 2008 250r ninja motorcycle from kawasaki to automatic. like a company that does that cuz ive looked all over the internet and i cant find any of those bikes that already come in automatic transmission. ive found some on the net like a honda one but i dont like its look. all of the others ive found on the internet look S***y to me so if any one can find/know of a company that does conversions from manual to automatic. and please no answers saying i need to tuffin up and use manual. i know that already and if i end up not finding a place or find out its not possible then ill just make do with manual. i dont have the bike yet cuz its a birthday present from my parents to me for my 16 b-day in the next 2 weeks so thats why im asking this so my parents can get it in automatic for me cuz i just prefer automatic and dont want to have to put up with manual even though after a while i wont even notice the shifting. please answer quickly and thank u.

  1. If you _really_ don't want an automatic, get a 250cc scooter instead, they're CVT's (automatic).

However I bet you can learn it fast.  We had people in our MSF class who had never driven a clutch car before, and they had it down within 30 minutes.

As far as conversion ... no ... not for that bike.  There used to be some kits for HD's, but I've never seen anything for sportsbikes.

  2. Just learn how to shift.

    It's really not that hard.

It adds to the fun of it.

It's much easier to learn to shift a bike than to learn to shift a car.

    Good luck.

  3. NO...

learn to shift, or buy a scooter

  4. I believe that the Hondamatic was the only automatic transmission for motorcycles. That was in the 70's, and wasn't a very big hit.

I dont believe they have a conversion kit for yours.

Why do that anyways? that takes the fun out of riding.

My suggestion, learn the manual. It's easy and fun!!

  5. Anyone that wants a motocycle of that type to be an automatic should not even consider a motorbike

perhaps buy the bike then swap the engine with the one in your lawn mower

a ninja 250 does not even have enough torque to be an auto,

Have fun with the hills buddy!!!

  6. >> cuz ive looked all over the internet and i cant find any of those bikes that already come in automatic transmission.

    Like your QUESTION says, no.

Motorcycles do NOT come in automatics.  And conversions are usually from one motorcycle part to another.

    Good Luck...

  7. please please please take the MSF course!!  they'll teach you how to use the clutch.  if you're 16 you probably have to take the course anyway, so please do so now, before you ever even sit on your bike.

  8. Seriously, it takes about 30 minutes in a parking lot and you'll be shifting like a pro. Shifting is half the fun!!

  9. if you don't have the competence to shift and use a clutch, you don't have the competence to ride a motorcycle, period.
