Im so grateful for this because I wasn't skinny to start out with lol but Im starting to wonder if all is OK...last time I went to my sonogram was for my anatomy scan and gender of the baby. They said all was fine..that was when I was about 21 weeks.

Im worried...has this weight issue happened with anyone else while pregnant?

Thanks!

  1. Everything is okay!

  2. Yes, happened to me during this pregnancy. Weight gain can be very slow during this time.

  3. They would have mentioned their concern if they were concerned over baby, my daughter only gained 6 kilos during her pregnancy and my grandson was born a very healthy 7LB 9OZ and she is about to have her second baby and this time she has gained 15kilos and she has been told baby is only small.  So this goes to show the weight you gain or don't gain doesn't necessarily decide the weight of the baby.

Hope this puts your mind at ease!

  4. yeah it happened to me sept my weight was always up and down never really stayed at a good spot. The doctors said it was nothing to worry about thought

  5. GIRL IM HAVING THE SAME ISSUE! IM 33 WEEKS AND IVE ONLY GAINED ABOUT 9 OR 10 LBS. MY MIDWIFE SAYS ITS NORMAL AS LONG AS THE BABY IS GROWING. IT ALSO DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU EAT. SHE TOLD ME THAT IT SEEMS AS THOUGHT EVERYTHING I EAT IS GOING STRAIGHT TO THE BABY INSTEAD OF GOING TO ME BUT IN A WAY ITS GOOD BECAUSE I WONT HAVE MUCH TO LOOSE AFTER HE IS BORN. BUT ASK YOUR DOCTOR JUST TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE AND CHECK IF YOUR BABY IS GROWING HOW HE SHOULD BE. WELL CONGRATS ON YOUR LIL BUNDLE OF JOY AND GOOD LUCK!

  6. I gained a few pounds here and there, then after about the 5th or 6th month, it slowed down quite a bit.  I didn't gain much weight at all and I was doing everything right.  Are you all belly?  I was ... :)

  7. i think a doctor would have better answers for you....take a trip to the doctor.

  8. in the first trimester i gained 13 kg then i gained nothing for another month and last month i gained 3 kg

dw its normal but if your worried ask your dr

  9. I'm 27 weeks pregnant and the same thing is happening with me. I lost about 6lb to 16 weeks, then I stacked on 20lb by 24 weeks (and was totally freaking out about that). Now I haven't gained anything for the last three weeks- in fact I think I've lost about a pound.

As far as I can tell, all the advice saying your weight gain should be steady is unrealistic. My baby is perfectly healthy, my doctor isn't worried, and I'm just glad I'm not stacking it on at the same rate I was before. LOL. I think it's probably due to variations in diet and exercise and so on- the baby is getting bigger and using up more energy, but I'm still eating the same amount I was a month ago, so I'm not putting on weight. And since the baby _is_ putting on weight, that probably means I'm actually losing fat- which is OK, because I wasn't skinny to start with either.

A friend of mine is 34 weeks pregnant and has lost about a pound a week steadily since she got pregnant. She's a bit bigger to start with, but everything is fine for her too.

  10. Well so far, at 25 weeks for me, it has happened over a one month period.  When the doctor saw that my weight was exactly the same as last month she just said, "That's really good."  Who am I to argue, I pray there are doctor's that still know what they're talking about.  I suppose it's probably fine, as long as the doctor doesn't think there's a problem.

  11. A lot of people have said that they gained a ton of weight while pregnant, but as of yesterday I have only gained 12 pounds and I am 36 almost 37 weeks along. My baby is doing great and seems to be very happy where she is so I don't think weight gain is too much of an issue. Of course, I'm just speaking from my own experience. I am no Dr.
