Pakistan's 26th National Women’s Hockey Championship to be held on 4 January, PHF
Pakistan Hockey Federation announced on Monday that the 26th National Women`s hockey championship will be played at Hockey Club of Pakistan Stadium Karachi between Jan 4 to 12.
A total of 17 teams from the provinces will take part in a preliminary round of the associations, which will be played from December 27 to January 1 at respective centres. Eight teams are from Punjab, five from Sindh, one from Khyber Pakhtukhwa, two from
Balochistan and one from Islamabad.
At the end of the preliminary round, two teams from Punjab, two from Sindh, one from Khyber PK, two from Balochistan and one team from Islamabad will qualify for the final round.
Preliminary round of the departments will run from December 27 to January 1 at National Hockey Stadium Lahore. Six teams which will take part in a preliminary round are Army, Police, WAPDA, Railways, HEC and Rangers. This round will end with two qualifying
teams for the final.
Ten qualified teams will participate in the final, which will be played from January 4 to 12 at Hockey Club of Pakistan Stadium Karachi.
In the meantime, PHF also declared the technical officials, who will take part in 31st National Games, which will be started from 25th December to 31 in Abbottabad.
According to the 57th National Hockey Championship held in Karachi, six teams have qualified for the National Games which are, WAPDA, Army, Navy, PAF, Punjab and Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa.
Syed Mohammad Zahir Shah will be the director of the tournament, while Chaudhry Ansar Jora and Mohammad Shafiq Bhatti will be the tournament officers. Dilawar Hussain Bhatti will be appointed as the umpires` manager.
Tehseen Ullah, Manzoor Ahmed and Mastyer Khan will be the judges. The total including umpires are Munawar Hussain, Mohammad Mushtaq, Rana Mohammad Liaqat, Haq Nawaz, Mohammad Munir and Mubarak Ali.
