I am probably going to buy a .270 here in the next few months. I know about the T/C icon and the Weatherby Vanguard which are both guaranteed MOA. But which ones better and are there any others out there I should consider.

  1. I have never used either of those rifles since they're so new but I recommend any Savage or Remington especially the Remington 700 which has way too many variants to list, meaning you can go low with a el-cheapo plastic stock (still a good stock for hunting/target practice) or a shiny new wooden stock. Not to mention that since the T/C and the Weatherby are new they are lacking any aftermarket parts unless you use universal mods that tend to be cheap and poor quality unlike speacialized time-proven mods and add-ons like the Remington's and Savage's have.

  2. Browning purchased U S Repeating arms and is now again making the great Winchester model 70.  For a rifle you are going to be carrying the featherweight version in .270 with the claw extractor might be the best.   That is my favorite by far.  But in defference to others you would be hard pressed to find a bad US made rifle, be it Ruger, or Remington, or Savage, or T/C, or Weatherby.  The issue is more of what features and feel are the best for you, not which is really better.
