Hey I'm 29 weeks pregnant and have some kind of cold or something, I have been having coughing spells that can last up to 5 minutes, and I have pulled a muscle in my stomach from coughing so hard. I can't get in to see my doctor they are to full to see me, I'm taking Robitussin every 4 hours and it doesn't seem to be helping, is there anything I can do to try and get better??? Please help, I am so miserable, I have had this for over a week!!!

  1. I would go to urgent care. It sounds like you may actually have an upper respiratory infection that will require antibiotics. Are you congested at all. A humidifier with liquids vicks vapo rub in it will help with the congestion if you are. Military or not you can go to a civilian hospital and Tricare WILL pay for it. I had issues all the time trying to get an appointment on base because all the soldiers took them for sick call that morning. It took me puking on a Nurses shoes before they finally realized I needed help. Get in the car and go to Urgent care off base. Let tricare handle the bill.

  2. If you can't get into the dr go to the ER, if you feel that bad, I understand, I had it about a month ago and my dr gave me M-end syrup which is a cough med with some codeine, that helped alot plus you need a drying agent to dry up your mucas, that is what is making you cough, Also a humidifier may help a little.

  3. Start downing chewable vitamin Cs. Until your stool softens. Pop them like Candy, its the only thing that helped me get over my cough...it was virtually gone over night. Suck on them like losenges too if you need to.

Good luck and stay away from the Robitussin, its not good for the baby.
