I just bought a 295 amp arc welder, the problem is that its a 220 volt and it has the big 3 prong end to plug it in. i dont have an outlet to support that in the garage or anywhere near the garage. does anybody know if there is a way to make it a 110 volt. ( i will probably never use the max capacity on it so i know i will lose some power but thats not a problem), any help would be greatly appreciated. thank-you

  1. No way that I am aware of, sorry. However if you keep an eye on the pawn shops, you can trade your 220vac unit in on a 110 vac unit!

  2. I'm not sure but as Nick Thieme smoking a lot of marijuana has always helped my situation.

  3. There is no way to conect a 220V. unit to 110v. outlet. You are out of luck. I have a 220 volt outlet connected outside next to my Air conditioner box. I plug my welder in there. I just make sure the A/C is off while I weld so I don't overload the circuit. I also have a 70 amp / 110 volt Hobby welder. It was on sale for 89$. I use it most of the time.....I rarely need the big welder for the welding I do.
