2cm dilated and 50percent effaced at 36 wks?

Question

Went to the hospital last nite wit light contractions and she checked me and said I was 2cm dilated and 50percent effaced!! How much longer do u think I hav before baby gets here? My mom Is tellin me it cud b anyyday!! I'm 36wks 2days pregnant wit baby girl!!!

Could be hours, days or weeks away.  I was 3-4 cm and 80% efaces for 4 weeks.

The same thing happened with me.

It was two weeks later before my water broke.

Every baby is a unique situation though.

It could be weeks... some women stay at 2 cm for a month.. if you go to 3 cm, then I would say it could be anytime.

Could be days or it could be weeks, you aren't even full term yet (37 weeks).  I have been 1-2 cm dilated and 50% effaced for 3 weeks now and I am 4 days past my due date, so don't get your hopes up too high cause you still could have another month to wait and maybe more.  Walking really helps to progress things along so you can try going to walks every day, it has helped me and it is also good for you.  Good luck!

And I don't know if this is your first baby or not, but most first time mom's go past their due date unfortunately!

Wow! I'm in a similar situation & was asking the same question!

I am 34 weeks 3 days. I'm 3 cm dilated & 75% effaced. The doctor told me that it could be anyday now! CONGRATS TO YOU!
