is 2methylpropane nonpolar? it seemed so but i am wondering if i got that question wrong.

  1. You didn't necessarily have to state that it is "non-polar". Every single multi-elemental molecule has a hint of polarity. That's the difference in electronegativities of all of the elements.

    What you did need to say was that the 2-methylpropane was less polar than the 2-iodo-2-methylpropane, therefore it had weaker intermolecular forces and a lower boiling point.
