I'm currently 18 weeks pregnant, getting ready to enter my 19th week. I understand all pregnancies are different for this is my third but with my first two i always felt "something" by this time and with this one have felt nothing. My appointment is next week and i will be relieved when hearing the heartbeat i have to wait two more weeks until the sonogram which will make me feel way better, but just wanted to know when some of you felt movement especially those who have been pregnant more than once. I also understand weight could be an issue, but i am fairly normal size, i was a little smaller with my other two but not by much so i don't have a lot of fat or anything that would prevent me from feeling anything. I have entered that "feel good" stage of pregnancy to where i don't really have many symptoms at all so it's a little bothersome not knowing if everything is okay or not.

  1. This is my 3rd child and I started feeling slight movement in my 14th week. I don't feel it really regularly, but I do feel something about every 2-3 days. I know that it's different with every baby, though, so try not to stress out. You might call your doctor and see if they can just get you in long enough to hear the heartbeat. I know what you mean about being in the "feel good" stage of pregnancy, because I feel like I don't have many symptoms either. Best of luck to you!

  2. Even though you have an appointment coming up, if you could afford to purchase a doppler, you are far enough along that a home doppler may ease your fears. If purchasing one is out of the question, try going to one of the places that help new and single moms with rental equipment and stuff.

My personal experience was the more children I had, the earlier I felt their movement b/c I knew what I was looking for, I would guess you are in the same situation. You should also know that I was a bit heavier than you describe.

Also, my personal feelings having had 2 miscarriages, is that we pay thousands of dollars for healthcare and you deserve peace of mind. Call your OB and tell them your concerns, they should be willing to get you in in order to ease your fears. A stressed out pregnant lady is not healthy!

    Good Luck and Best Wishes!

  3. I only felt the first movement at around 19 1/2 weeks so it sounds normal to me.  My aunt recently told me that she didn't feel my little cousin move once during her whole pregnancy!  Crazy huh?  But she is now a very healthy 17 year old.

  4. yes you sound fine i am preg. with my 3rd also and at 18 weeks i hardly ever felt my baby for some reason and i thought i would be feeling him alot sooner seeing how it was my 3rd pregnancy and im a pretty small person.  But i didnt really really start feeling my little one regular until about 21 weeks this time now im 25 weeks and he is moving all the time.. i know its scary when you dont feel them moving sometimes but i think everything is ok. Good luck to you and your pregnancy
