2nd best player of all time?

Most people will say MJ is the best (true), but i'm looking for who was the 2nd best. Bird, the big O, Wilt?

Kobe. If you can over-look the fact that MJ has more rings, I can over-look the fact that Rusell had more rings than MJ.

ok russell didn't win the rings by himself, and he wasn't close to being the best overall individual player. if you're asking who's got the most rings then yeah russell would be the best player ever, but just on skill alone, I'd go MJ now and Kobe 2nd and in a few years Lebron may just be on the top of this list.

I think it would have to be Larry Bird.  

It's hard to compare players like Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell to relatively modern players like Jordan because the competition they play against is so different.  

For instance, Wilt Chamberlain could never score 100 points in an NBA game today.
