2nd big upset of Safina?

after beating Henin yesterday, great victory with a tremendous fight over Serena just now.

can she continue her streak?

Though being a Serena fan, lover, I woudl have wanted her to win, but clearly safina is playing how she is expected to play and on a hot streak as of late. She had faltered with ehr play, rankings, but evidently is on her way back up. This surface would suit her best also I think but will be a factor on any surface and not an easy opponent to face. She still needs to curb that temper like Big Brother, but she is on her way.

well,safina IS dangerous on clay....remember her win against sharapova at RG? i'd say its her best surface,really. and to me,she's slightly better on clay than serena so it's not really a tremendous shock. it's a wonderful tournament for her win or lose in the semis. but she has a really great opportunity to get to the final. i still believe elena dementieva will take the title especially now after taking out jelena jankovic earlier as well. and it looks as if ana ivanovic might be on her way out as well to szavay.

I'm shocked, I never thought she could play that well so consistently. I think her game is definitely suited to the red clay and I think she's favorite to win the tournament now and if she keeps her level up she will be extremely hard to beat at the French Open.
