2nd grader in trouble now?

Question

This girl gave my son a penthouse magazine at school and he brought it home i took him back to school and spoke to the teacher about this

These kids are in SECOND GRADE how the heck did she get ahold of this to take to school?????? MY GOSH!!!

well let's see it's was a penthouse magazine, I would have to say that the daddy of that little girl didn't put his toys (dirty magazine) away after he was finished with it. So the little girl probably had seen daddy looking at it and thought it was alright to show it to your son. Parents who feel they need to look at things like that for whatever reason, hey it's fine with me, but after your done with it lock it back up like you would if you owned a gun. So your children don't get their hands on it. There are alot of things little kids shouldn't be looking,playing or touching, and it's up to the parents to make sure these things are put away in a proper place. That's how I feel anyway. I absolutely think that the teacher/principle should sit down with the student and the PARENT to discuss this! That's disgusting, and for a 7 year old to have that type of material AND bring it to school.  Something might be going on at home, you just never know, PUSH PUSH PUSH for the teacher to discuss this with the parent of that child.  Please!  Good luck! I hope your son wasn't too traumatized by that!

Her parents thats who you should have went to. Its scary because we do all we can to prevent our kids from seeing horrible things then there are people out there who should have never reproduced because they havent a clue

Don't panic, first of all.  This was a naked lady magazine, mostly.  Your child saw some naked women, in some provocative poses.  You need to be calm, you need to talk to your child about this without a huge overreaction.  Ask him what he thought. Answer any questions he might have (as honestly as you can.) Tell him how you feel about this type of material ("this is private, people should keep these in their bedrooms, not for sharing, not for kids, etc")

You can't know what goes on in another child's house, and your child's teacher can't talk to you about another family.  You can only control your reactions, your family, and your values.  I know its scary, but try to look at it as a teaching moment in your child's life!

It seems the parents need to keep their stuff put up. 2nd Graders shouldn't be seeing that. I would say you should have went to the parents, but parents these days, it's like your words go in one ear and out the other.

Well, it is weird, all that I can suggest is that the kids parents my work for penthouse magasine.  Or maybe the girl baught it behind her parents back, or she maybe was given it by someone else.

If I were you, I would call the parents of the girl, tell them about the magasine, ask if they knew anything about it, or how she got it.

Or, get your son to ask her when he next sees her.  That's all I can really suggest.
