I've already been through it so I shouldn't be so nervous, but I am! Would anyone share your experience with your 2nd labor/delivery? How was it compared to your first?

  1. It is normal to feel nervous. I have two children and I was just as nervous the second time around. In fact I was a little more nervous, because for one,I had placenta previa,(thankfully it cleared up on its own) and two,my second child was a lot bigger than my first. My first child was 7lbs 6oz  and my second was 9lbs 9oz.

Every pregnancy is different. I hope that all goes well with you.

  2. I'm on my 3rd and more nervous than i was with my first two, it must be normal! My second went fine, but i think i was so nervous with that one  because my first delivery wasn't so good but i have no clue why i'm freaking out over the third....just nerves i'm sure!

  3. I think it is normal for everyone to be nervous no matter what number pregnacy they are on. My first labor was long and extremely painful. When it come to deliver my second I was really nervous. I was very lucky though. My second and third time around were a peace of cake. Second one I was given potocin to get the contractions going, delivered 6 hours later, 3 pushes and she was out. My third I started having contractions in the middle of the day, went to the hospital about 7 pm was dialated 6 cm and had our son 3 hours later and again only took about 4 pushes to get him out. It was amazing how much easier it was the second and third time around. I was nervous everytime though. Good luck I hope your labor goes as good as mine did. I think it helps to have good doctors and nurses around. A lot of my problem with my first labor was an unexperianced nurse. I really liked the hospital and there staff where I had my second and third child.

  4. Omg! i am 36w 3d pregnant with my 3rd and i am super nervous and scared! with my first i wasn't at all i was too depressed to think about it because i gave birth to a stillbirth baby girl, with my second i wasn't either because i was too happy to have another little girl but with this one i am SO happy because its a boy but more nervous than ever, i am terrified i don't know why? but hopefully everything turns out ok, for you too good luck!!

  5. I am ready for my 2nd baby.  But I am a little nervous also.  What if it is nothing like my 1st labor?  I had back labor with my 1st pregnancy.  What if I don't with this one, will I really know I'm in labor?  Dumb I know but my worry.  I totally agree with you.  I think we are afraid of the unknown.  We just know how it was the 1st time, and this pregnancy is nothing like my last one.

    Good luck to you!

  6. I was more nervous with my second, too, because I knew what to expect that time! Haha.

But, actually, my second was a breeze compared to the first. My labor was about 10 hours shorter, and I only pushed for about 30 minutes instead of 2 hours like the first! I seemed to have healed faster too. They say that it gets easier/shorter every time and that was the case for me!

Who says you shouldn't be nervous? Sure you should! You're human and about to have a baby! It's completely normal and you have every right to have jitters! Just remember that you made it through last time, and there are LOTS of things you can do to help you get through it!

    Good luck and congrats!

  7. it was actually easy knowing that i knew what was going to happen i actually felt more confident cuz it was almost the same as my first
