2wire wireless helppppp?

i have at&t 2wire gateway, and my wireless was working just fine until a few days ago. ethernet works fine. my laptop is what i use wireless on. the laptop works on other networks, and the wireless light is not on on the 2wire, plz help, thanks

  1. Well unlike some routers, the light on the 2wire gateways, does not light until there is an active connection so if no one is connected, it should be off.   Ours had that issue and the fix was a little stange.

    First - unplug the gateway from power. Wait at least ONE full minute or more! Then reconnect power and wait for the unit to cycle. Usually about two to three minutes. Then from your laptop, see if the wireless is available again.

    Second, if you still do not see the SSID, connect using ethernet to the router. Go to the setup page http://gateway.2wire.net  or http://192.168.1.254  then check the wireless settings.  Turn OFF the wireless. Wait till it shows ready again, Then turn the wireless back on - wait for the unit to be ready. Try it again.  

    Third, if still no luck - CHANGE the SSID on the wireless page in the router.

    We ended up changing the SSID which for some reason made it show again!
