2x questions, budgies and egg probs, HELP!

Question

Question 1- how do you know if your budgie (female) is pregnant, i mean, signs, behavior, overall and should i give her anything.

Question 2- my female budgie has laid a batch of eggs 3 times, every time theres 1 egg and then a few days later 3, they dont hatch or mummy throws them out.

now is the 4th try and she has laid 4 eggs in total now, still being laid 1 by 1, its with a different male for 2 of the times, im wondering if they will hatch this time?

Hi,

You can tell if the female is ready to lay because she will start spending a lot of time in the nest box and with mine then around the females bum she will get fatter cause the eggs are there.

They may hatch this time normally if the hen throws the eggs out then its because she knows that they are in fertile.

Maybe, the eggs were duds. That is why mummy threw them out. If it was meant to be, it was meant to be.

Hello- Kat Mias BFFL - lol we meet again, i didnt know you likes birds too, we would be good friends.

Question 1- usually her but gets uge and she need heaps of power to fly, also checks/sits in the breeding box.

Question 2- wow the same thing happened tpo me exsept this is try number 3, scarely!!!.

Answer 1: They usually become broody and slower in movement, however the do spend longer moving their feathers into a nest formation.

1. You can not tell that a Bugie is pregnant, As they lay eggs....

She will look a little swallen around the vent 24 hours before the egg is layed, They will lay an egg every second day till they have between 5 -7 eggs After the 3rd or 4th egg is when they start to sit ( incubate)...

She should be given Calcium as producing eggs, the hen uses their calicum from their bones!!!!

2.Eggs hatch in the same order as they are laid - IF THEY ARE FERTILE

3. HENS SHOULDN'T DO MORE THEN 2 CLUTCHED A YEAR!!!!!

4. HENS SHOULDN"T BE BREED IF THEY ARE UNDER 11 MONTHS OLD and MALES SHOULDN'T IF UNDER 12 MONTHS as they may not fertilse the eggs ....

signs in my birds are usually a bit agressive and protective especially when u go near them

some reasons as to why her eggs might not be hatching is that there infertile or your budgie has yet to learn to sit on them etc. things you can give her to prevent or stop egg binding etc if give her a fresh supply of vitamins and foods so vegetables and friuts seeds and water.
